The boy Ta An Phuoc in Dien Chau District’s Dien Phu Commune has been diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei when he was just one year old. Despite being given with chemotherapy and surgery, his condition has yet improved. Over the past three years, he has spent most of the time at hospital.

His father Ta Ngoc Tien said that An Phuoc was born in good health, but when he was one year ago, he often suffered from illnesses, particularly long high fevers.
One time when he struggled with high fever, he was taken to Nghe An Maternity - Paediatric Hospital; but his disease was serious, so doctors said that he needed to be transferred to Vietnam National Hospital of Paediatrics for treatment.
According to the father, his family sold out all valuable assets for the treatment.
Just a short time after the surgery to remove the 6 cm tumour, the boy’s disease resurfaced. So, he was taken to Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi for the treatment. Doctors there said that the disease has resulted in severe complications, so it was impossible to conduct another operation. Instead, the best method for him now is chemotherapy.
To date, his health has not been improved. These days, when pains are more severe, his parents have taken him to Nghe An Maternity - Paediatric Hospital for temporary treatment.
