
The northern tourist town of Sapa became extremely crowded on the evening of April 30 which was the first day of the four-day Reunification Day and May Day holiday.

Statistic from the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism showed that the town was expected to receive some 70,000 visitors during this time.


Huge crowds were seen on streets including Cau May, Fansipan, around the church, and at cafes, and restaurants. Many visitors wore face masks for Covid-19 prevention.

Thousands of people also flocked to the beaches in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau on Friday afternoon.

The beaches became extremely crowded with few people wearing face masks.


The same situation was also reported at Sam Son Beach in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa on late Friday afternoon.
