The southern central province of Khanh Hoa is seeking the government for solutions to help 5,361 Chinese return to their country amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Nguyen Dac Tai, vice chairman of the provincial people’s committee, said 520 were investors and workers who were licensed to work in Vietnam, while the remainder were holidaymakers who came to the locality.
However, under instruction of the Ministry of Transport, all flights to and from China had been suspected from January 31.
Khanh Hoa had temporarily stopped welcoming Chinese visitors from January 28. Travel firms in the province had served Chinese who had come to the province before January 27.
Khanh Hoa has also tightened control over people who come to the locality, including foreigners, to help the coronavirus prevention.
