Italian President Sergio Mattarella will pay a State visit to Vietnam from November 5-8 at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang.

Italy is currently one of Vietnam’s important trade partners in the European Union (EU), standing third in terms of imports and fifth in terms of exports.

In 2014, two-way trade between the two countries reached US$4.1 billion.

Vietnam and Italy upgraded their relations to a strategic partnership in 2013 with the aim of spurring all-around cooperation.
