Police in the northern province of Quang Ninh have decided to prosecute Sharma Rohit, 26, of Indian nationality for violating road traffic regulations.

According to a report from Quang Ninh Police, Sharma Rohit lost control while driving a motorbike at a high speed and crashed into a Taiwanese tourist, Chou Man Luan, who was crossing the road on Hoang Quoc Viet Street in Ha Long City on December 7, 2023.

The crash left the Taiwanese female tourist dead on the spot.

After causing the accident, Sharma Rohit fled.

At the police station, Sharma Rohit admitted that he didn't have a motorbike driving licence. The man used to work as a trainer at a gym in Ha Long City.
