The chairman of Mang Den Town People's Committee, Dang Ngoc Hiep, said that the illegal construction work was located on an area of 175 square metres in Kon Pring Tourism Village, beside National Road 24.
"The bungalows are built on agricultural land and have yet to be given a construction license," Hiep said. "We've summoned the investor, but no one turned up, so we've decided to remove the project."
According to a Kon Plong District Department of Natural Resources and Environment representative, as Mang Den is attracting more visitors, 11 construction violation cases have been uncovered since the beginning of this year. Most have paid fines for their violations but refused the authorities' requirements to remove their illegal works.
"We've had to send our teams to dismantle all these illegal constructions and will conduct further checks on all local tourism facilities in the coming time. This is part of our commitment to protect the environment and the integrity of our tourism industry."
