Vietnam is ranked as the most attractive destination in Asia for expats to save money and enjoy greater disposable income, according to a survey by HSBC.
HSBC survey ranks Vietnam as top expat destination in Asia
The recently published Expat Explorer Survey on 22,000 foreign workers worldwide showed that Vietnam tops the regional league table with 67% of expats in the country reporting an increase in their disposable income and 68% said that they can save more since moving to Vietnam.
Many expats say they have an easier life in Vietnam as they spend less money on accommodation, transport, clothes, household goods, utilities and bills compared to when they were living in their home country. In Vietnam, it is more affordable for them to pay for domestic help or take luxury holidays.
It is followed by China where 68% of expats said they have more disposable income and 65% can save more. The runners-up were Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
According to the survey, Qatar tops the world for expats to save money and have higher disposable income with the respective rates of 76% and It is followed by the Czech Republic and Mexico.
