After several days of rain, soil in high hillside areas became waterlogged and unstable, triggering slope failures. In some places, earth and rock slid down to the edge of house foundations, forcing residents to urgently move belongings and leave their homes.

Across Quang Ninh Province, 107 households with 375 people have been evacuated from unsafe areas. Cua Ong Ward moved 31 households with 112 people, Hong Gai Ward 31 households with 82 people, and Tien Yen Commune 30 households with 126 people.

Hoanh Mo Commune evacuated seven households with 27 people, Luc Hon Commune six households with 21 people, and Bai Chay Ward two households with seven people.

In Cua Ong Ward alone, authorities have also warned a further 46 households with 169 people to be ready for emergency evacuation if heavy rain continues.

Heavy rain has also caused localised flooding in several areas. In Van Don special zone, flooding appeared on Provincial Road 326, prompting authorities to stand guard, put up warning signs and stop people and vehicles from entering dangerous areas.

Bai Chay Ward recorded two localised flooded spots on transport routes.

To deal with the aftermath of Storm Narra, Quang Ninh deployed 818 personnel to affected areas.

With soil in steep hillside areas already saturated, the risk of further landslides remains if heavy rain continues.
