HCM City Police announced on August 2 that they had arrested seven people, including four South Korean nationals, Yu Sungho, Lee Ji-young, Kim Ji Hoon, and Kang MinCheol, and three Vietnamese, including Nguyen Kim Diem, Hoang Anh Hao and Ngo Thi Ngoc Thuy for organising prostitution.
According to investigations from the police, the G&G Restaurant on District 1's Nguyen Thai Binh Street organised prostitution.
G&G opened on May 22, 2024, and was run by Hoang Anh Hao, Yu Sungho, Ngo Thi Ngoc Thuy, and Cho Kiwan. Although registered as a restaurant, they illegally opened 30 karaoke rooms that only served primarily South Koreans and Chinese.
At the time of being raided by the police, G&G had eight South Korean and three Vietnamese managers and over 120 female staff members who also served as sex workers.

G&G advertised itself through information and video clips posted on various social websites. They offered many packages at different prices and stressed that all their operations were strictly protected. Their sex workers served customers on-site or at locations chosen by customers.
Following investigations, HCM City police conducted raids at the restaurant and some apartments in the area on August 2, detaining all the managers, several sex workers and their customers.
At the police station, the managers said they only served foreign customers who used passports, which they believed could be hard for the authorities to detect. Their facility was also carefully guarded, and no Vietnamese customers were allowed to enter.
G&G has generated over VND10 billion (USD398,565) after just two months of operation.
Police are expanding the investigation into the case.
