The two trains at Khanh Hoi Port
The two trains are scheduled to be brought to Long Binh depot on July 14-16. Binh Thai Substation has been switched on to prepare for the pilot operation of the trains.
The three-carriage trains are 61.5 metres long and can transport 930 passengers each. They can travel at 110 kilometres per hour on elevated sections and 80 kilometres per hour underground.
The VND47.3-trillion (USD2.05 billion) project is 19.7 kilometres long with 14 stations, linking the centre area of Ben Thanh District and Long Binh Depot in Thu Duc District. To date, around 87% of the project has been completed.
The project has been behind schedule due to the impact of Covid-19 and other reasons. So, it is expected to be put into official operation in 2022.
