The Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (Haraco) will launch a railway service to serve travellers around the city as well as from Hanoi to different tourist sites in the country.
Hanoi to launch tourist railway service
According to the department director Do Dinh Hong, besides normal passenger services, Hanoi Railway Station will have trains to take travellers to tour around the city and to Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Quang Binh provinces and to the cities of Haiphong, Hue, Danang and Hoi An.
Hong added that the Hanoi Department of Tourism and Haraco will work with travel firms to work out quality standards for this railway service.
Tourists will be picked up and taken to the station by car, while railway tickets will be directly sent to them.
Tour guides on the railway routes will focus on introducing historical monuments, landscapes and food.
