Hanoi streets crowded again despite social distancing

Hanoi’s streets have become crowded again despite the social distancing regulations being imposed.

It has been 20 days since the social distancing rules were applied in Hanoi. The residents were asked to stay home and only go out when it is necessary. But on August 13, many streets including Chua Boc, Truong Chinh and Xa Dan were crowded even though it was not rush hour and the social distancing has not been lifted.

Pham Hai Luong from Cau Giay District said he was surprised at the number of vehicles. "I don't know why. People are getting too relaxed," he said.

Vu Ngoc Phan from Tay Ho District was worried after seeing the number of people on the streets.

"I think the number of positive cases recorded daily in Hanoi is still high. It's like everyone thinks that they are exempt from this pandemic. Public awareness is important during this time," he said.
