The same situation has also been reported in different resettlement areas such as Nam Trung Yen in Cau Giay District and Tran Phu in Hoang Mai District.
Hanoi is home to 199 resettlement buildings with a total number of 17,957 apartments, but to date, hundreds of apartments have been left unused.
Meanwhile, many buildings lack the required facilities such as basements, and waste treatment and fire prevention and control systems.
Lots of resettlement areas are quite far from schools and hospitals and are inconvenient for transport connections.
Some resettlement apartment projects have struggled with difficulties in compensation or a lack of capital.
