The Ho Chi Minh City Command on July 28 announced the recovery of 19 sets of remains believed to belong to fallen Vietnamese soldiers at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City.

The discovery includes 10 individual sets of remains and one mass grave containing nine sets of remains, along with several personal artefacts.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Command, a total of 144 sets of soldiers' remains have now been recovered from the park.
The command said it would continue expanding the search area while working with specialist agencies, witnesses and relevant organisations to locate and recover additional remains. The results of the operation will be announced in accordance with official regulations.

The search and recovery operation at Le Thi Rieng Park was launched on July 6 following the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra at a workshop verifying information about a mass grave of martyrs in the area of Do Thanh - Chi Hoa cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park.
Earlier, based on witness accounts and historical records, the Ho Chi Minh City Command estimated that hundreds of martyrs killed during the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising may have been buried in what is now Le Thi Rieng Park.
