The suspected crocodile was first spotted by residents working near Cay Xanh Stream in Dak O Commune on July 25. Witnesses photographed the animal before reporting it to authorities.
Search teams, supported by forestry, military and police personnel, have since searched the area but have yet to locate the animal.
Residents are urged to stay away from the stream unless necessary and to keep children away from the area while the search continues.
Witnesses estimated the animal weighed more than 10 kilogrammes, although its species has not yet been confirmed. Authorities said they had not identified any nearby crocodile farms that could explain its presence.
Residents have been asked not to approach, capture or provoke the animal and to report any sightings immediately.
