The panel with amateurish quality

Passersby on Le Hong Phong and Kieu Mai streets were puzzled by details in the image on the panel, which was supposed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Reunification.

The centre of the panel shows the development of Hanoi, the national flag and a woman in a traditional Ao Dai (long dress), holding a bunch of flowers.

But many people said it was easy to see the bunch of sunflowers had been pasted onto her hand, as had other details, and lacked professionalism.

To Van Dong, the director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, told DTiNews the department had sent some pictures to local districts, including the photo with the women holding the sunflowers.

He said the detail was not evident in the original image, but when it was blown up, the faults became apparent.

Dong said he had halted the panel campaign and asked the image be replaced.
