Dr Pham Huu Thuong, director of the hospital, said that 14 people at the hospital, consisting of 10 patients, three healthcare workers and a caregiver were suspected of Covid-19 infection. Among those, nine had the positive testing result for the virus on Sunday evening. While the others are still waiting for the result.

The hospital has suspended receiving patients.

Earlier, a 24-year-old woman in Tay Ho District was treated at the hospital on July 6-22. On July 24, she had a fever and went to Phuong Dong Hospital for Covid-19 for a medical check-up. She then tested positive for Covid-19.

Epidemiologists are planning to test nearly 400 people closely linked to the outbreak at the hospital.
