Centre Point building was locked down


Hanoi Department of Internal Affairs said they had immediately asked Hacinco to clarify group and individual responsibility for the case of Hacinco director Nguyen Van Thanh. On May 13, the department announced that Thanh has been suspended. Since Thanh is now a patient 0, all punishment will be carried out after he is treated. Six other members of the director board have also been quarantined after being in contact with Thanh.

Nguyen Van Thanh lives in the Centre Point Apartment Building on Le Van Luong Street. He and his wife went to Danang for the Reunification Holiday and returned to Hanoi on May 2. On May 9, Thanh brought his wife who was coughing to Thu Cuc Hospital but they were denied services because they had travelled to Danang.

Thanh continued to go to work, visit customers and go to the golf course. On May 12, he also began coughing and went to Vietnam-So Viet Friendship Hospital with his wife. This time, they did not say that they had visited Danang. After observing their symptoms, they were brought to the quarantine area immediately and later tested positive for Covid-19.

Vietnam-So Viet Hospital had to disinfect the area and launched necessary preventive measures. The 8th floor of the Centre Point Apartment Building was also locked down on May 12.
