On December 24, Phan Hai Nam, 37, from Tho Dien Commune, Vu Quang District entered Vietnam through the central province of Quang Nam’s Nam Giang border gate area along with five others.
One day later, Nam took a passenger bus to come back to his home in Ha Tinh, but he did not inform his return to local authorities for the health declaration procedures and quarantine as stipulated.
Until January 2, when his eight-year-old son suffered from fever, he took him to a clinic in Vu Quang Town for a medical check-up. His appearance was detected by some local residents who then reported this to the authorities.
He and his son have been quarantined since January 4. They have tested negative for Covid-19 twice.
