As a key speaker at the Germany – Vietnam economic workshop, the Former German Chancellor Gerhard Shroeder will meet and discuss with high-ranking Vietnamese representatives regarding business perspectives of German and European enterprises in Vietnam at Viet Duc University, Ho Chi Minh City in April.
This is one of the most critical events in a series of activities marking the first-ever Germany year in Vietnam – 2010. The events are designed to honour past cooperation and further strengthen future ties of both countries on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Under the sponsorship of Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet and German President Horst Kohler, the “Germany year in Vietnam and Vietnam year in Germany 2010” promises to be one of the most outstanding occasions of the year with a series of cultural, economic, political and social programmes in both Germany and Vietnam.
The year-long event will focus on four key areas: environment, urban development, arts and discussion. The areas of Environment and Urban development will be showcased by major workshops, fairs and exhibitions on urban planning, transport, architecture, environmental protection and climate change.
A live concert of Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 at Hanoi’s Opera House on January 23 and 24 will kick off the event.
Also, Vietnamese people will enjoy a very special and unique German beer festival right in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in October. This will be a good chance for both Vietnamese and German people to discover and exchange ideas about culture, customs, people and each other.
