The fire occurred in Mean Chey where around 500 overseas Vietnamese families are living. It destroyed all of the 91 houses, but luckily caused no fatality.

The Vietnamese Embassy and the OVs Association in Cambodia timely gave rice, money and noodle to the victims. Ambassador Du said he hoped the fire-stricken OVs overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon.

The OVs Association is encouraging benefactors and businesses to raise funds for the victims and working with local authorities to find proper supporting measures.

The fire is under investigation.
