Authorities in the central city of Danang will carry out measures to deal with people found harassing or cheating tourists.
Municipal agencies will work in the first two weeks of July to target illegal advertisements on streets and vendors and beggars who are found to follow, disturb and harass travellers.
It is quite common to see such people on streets in Danang, including children and the disabled who beg.
Municipal authorities will keep a close watch on tourist sites, restaurants, hospitals, stations, pagodas and restaurants to detect violators.
Wards are asked to arrange security staff to patrol major streets at peak hours during the weekend. In case being detected, beggars will be temporarily sent to the city’s social centres.
Meanwhile, vendors who operate on prohibited streets and trouble travellers will be strictly punished as regulated.
