Danang City has just enforced the odd-even parking restrictions on 10 streets in the city centre.

Traffic signs installed on 10 streets
On February 24, local Department of Transport said traffic signs have been installed on all 10 streets include Thai Phien, Le Hong Phong, Hoang Hoa Tham, Le Do, Do Quang, Tran Quoc Toan, Tran Binh Trong, Nguyen Trai, Hoang Dieu and Hai Phong.
Vehicles now are banned from parking at even-numbered side of the street on even days and on the odd-numbered side during odds days. Locality authorities, police and the Department of Transport have been asked to improve public awareness about the rule in the coming month, with violations dealt with from April.
According to the authorities, as increasing numbers of people are able to afford cars, the need for parking space has increased. Ho Quang Vinh from Urban Traffic Management Office said that too many cars were parked on the streets, causing congestion.

"In the future, until public parking lots are built then the alternate parking rule will be enforced on all streets," Vinh said.
He went on to say in 2003, Danang authorities failed to implement similar rule on Le Do Street because they didn't handling the rule aggressively enough.
Local authorities are also considering to make Phan Chau Trinh and Hoang Dieu one-way streets.
