In Hanoi, a vast crowd gathered in front of churches such as Hanoi Cathedral, Ham Long, and Cua Bac, which were decorated with coloured lights and flowers, to enjoy Christmas atmosphere.

Major streets around Hoan Kiem Lake, along shopping malls, hotels, and restaurants in the city centre were all embellished with spectacular Christmas decorations.

In Ho Chi Minh City, streets were filled with revelers on Christmas Eve which saw pleasant temperature of 28 degrees. Many churches, buildings, and shops on streets including Pham The Hien, Dong Khoi and Le Loi were decorated with colourful ornaments to celebrate the event. Several walking streets attracted a large number of visitors.

The central city of Da Nang had heavy rains on Christmas Eve but many people still came to churches.
In the ancient town of Hoi An, many foreign tourists joined with locals at restaurants, bars and churches to celebrate Christmas.
Duc Minh Commune in the central highlands province of Dak Nong where 99 per cent of population are Christian, held large-scale celebrations at their church. Priest Tran Xuan Cuong said that local people here are very devout.

The northern province of Ha Nam also had a beautiful Christmas Eve with temperatures ranging between 16-17 degrees which was ideal for people to go out for Christmas celebrations.
