The Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Centre forecast mostly cloudy skies on June 2, with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to range from 24-27 degrees Celsius and 29-32 degrees Celsius.

The forecast follows heavy rain that swept across parts of HCM City on June 1, including Ben Thanh, Cau Ong Lanh, Cho Quan, Thu Duc and Linh Xuan, bringing 5-30mm of rainfall, with some areas receiving more than 50mm.
The downpour, which lasted nearly an hour, caused flooding on several roads, forcing commuters to wade through water or push their motorbikes through inundated sections during the evening rush hour.
Meteorologists said thunderstorm activity is likely to ease on June 3, with rainfall becoming more scattered and concentrated mainly in the late afternoon and evening.
However, rain is forecast to intensify again between June 4 and 5, when widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across parts of southern Vietnam.
Authorities warned that heavy rain could cause localised flooding, with thunderstorms bringing lightning, strong winds and possible whirlwinds. Residents were advised to monitor weather updates and avoid flooded areas.
