The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has instructed airport operators and relevant agencies to strengthen disease prevention measures to prevent Ebola from entering the country through air travel.
Airport authorities have been told to closely monitor passengers arriving from affected regions and promptly identify suspected cases for isolation and medical observation.

The agency also called for tighter inspections and preparedness measures to ensure an appropriate response to passengers who are infected or considered at risk of infection.
Airport health units have been instructed to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies to improve disease surveillance and early detection efforts.
The measures come amid ongoing Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.
WHO has classified the outbreaks as a public health concern due to the risk of cross-border transmission. Ebola is a severe viral disease that spreads through direct contact with the blood or bodily fluids of infected people or contaminated surfaces and objects.
According to WHO, 906 suspected Ebola cases and 223 suspected deaths have been recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Authorities there have confirmed 282 infections, including 42 deaths.
Uganda has also reported nine Ebola cases and one death, raising concerns about the disease spreading within the region.
