According to the Japan Trade and Environment Promotion Organisation, they will co-ordinating with experts and officials from the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Science and Technology and the Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Company to take water samples at a section of the To Lich River and the West Lake for testing after being treated with Nano-Bioreactor technology.


"Together with water testing which will be carried out on the morning of September 16, we will release Japanese Koi and Vietnamese carp into the river and lake," said technical advisor of the organisation, Kubo Jun on Thursday.

"We will also put on show the process of treating 150,000 cubic metres of waste water discharged from 300 pipes into the 15-kilometre-long To Lich River in 24 hours," he said.

Hanoi started a pilot project to treat polluted water at To Lich River and the West Lake using Japanese Nano -Bioreactor technology since May 16. Positive results have been reported with water become clearer with a less foul smell.
