Binh Phuoc proposes VND1.4trn infrastructure development plan

The proposal was first made during the 9th Meeting of the Provincial Coordination Sub-Committee on Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area held in Binh Phuoc Province on December 17.

Binh Phuoc provincial authorities urged to quickly start the Asia high-speed railway project that go through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and China, and rebuild the Dac Quyt Bridge for VND300bn (USD13m) investment. The local authorities have also completed 70 km of the 86-km Highway 13. They are lacking VND450bn to complete the rest 16 km.

Other infrastructure projects that need investment are VND200bn (USD8.81m) to build the route to the historic Ta Thiet Military Base, VND150bn to build better infrastructure for cashew development, and VND10bn to support cooperatives to invest in drip irrigation system in 2018.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment and other central agencies were asked to approve of VND100bn (USD4.40m) plan to improve the infrastructure in Hoa Lua Border Gate Economic Zone and the VND200bn plan to upgrade Dong Xoai Town into a city in 2018.
