Since April last year when the fourth Covid-19 wave started hitting Vietnam, Hanoi has recorded 288,447 Covid-19 cases. Most of the patients have been quarantined at home, while 6,253 others were treated at hospital.

Among the patients, 1,014 have experienced worsened and severe conditions, including 890 using oxygen masks and 56 given Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation. Most of the patients are at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, the Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Duc Giang General Hospital and Thanh Nhan Hospital.
The city has prepared 2,100 sickbeds for Covid-19 cases. In necessary cases, the city will increase the number of beds for Covid-19 treatment.
At present, the city is focusing on reducing the rate of severe cases.
The city has prioritised booster Covid-19 vaccine shorts for old people and those with underlying medical conditions.
