Arriving Vientiane for the opening ceremony of the 25th SEA Games, Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung paid a courtesy visit to the host Party leader, State President Choummaly Sayasone and had a meeting with his Lao counterpart Bouasone Bouphavanh.
The chief of the Vietnamese Government reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy to attach importance and high priority to consolidating and strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
PM Dung thanked the Government and people of Laos for donating 1,000 cubic meters of timbers for the victims of Typhoon Ketsana in Central Vietnam.
He also hoped that the Government of Laos would offer more favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to expand their business activities for mutual benefits.
Leaders of the Party and Government of Laos highly appreciated Vietnam’s assistance for the organization of the regional sports event.
They also made good comments on Vietnam’s investment in Laos, considering it a driving force for economic development here.
They emphasized that Laos will do its utmost to foster and develop the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Parties, State and peoples.
