The information was announced by the Ministry of Health on the morning of March 31. The boy was quarantined after landing at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City on March 15. He lives in Cat Lai Ward, District 2. He went from Prague to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK1770 on March 14 and from Istanbul to Vietnam on flight TK162 on March 15. He was on the same flight with Patient 83.

Upon returning, he didn't show any symptoms and was transferred to the quarantine area at 7th Military Region Military School in HCM City. The test on March 18 was negative. During the quarantine period, he didn't develop a cough or a fever, but his roommates said he sneezed often. The test result on March 27 came back positive.

He has been transferred to Can Gio Health Centre.

The Ministry of Health has requested everyone to follow five steps to prevent the virus which are limiting going outside, always wearing face masks when going out and staying two metres away from other people, often washing hands with soap, cleaning and keeping the house open with fresh air, and declaring medical conditions on the NCOVI app or tokhaiyte.vn.

As of March 31, Vietnam has had 204 cases and 55 people have been released. 33 of the cases are in Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi. Truong Sinh Company, which provides food and boiled water to the hospital, has 22 cases.

Bach Mai Hospital has taken 7,264 samples from staffs and patients for viral testing. All of the hospital staffs are negative with the virus.
