At 4 pm on March 6, the police in Long Chu Commune received a report that several non-Vietnamese national had been found walking around in Long Binh Hamlet. Nine Chinese people were found at a rubber plantation while some others had hid.

According to the Chinese, a Vietnamese person who was living in China introduced overseas jobs to them. They then started from Guangxi and walked a day to get into Vietnam. A bus picked them up to Hanoi where they stayed for two days. The group then went to HCM City and stayed for three days before going to Tay Ninh. They were going to cross the border into another country when they were found.

A quick Covid-19 test came back negative. All of them have been transferred to the quarantine centre at Tay Ninh Teacher Training College.

At 5 pm on March 7, seven other Chinese were found while they were trying to find ways to get into Cambodia.

The border guards at Long Khot Border Station said at 7.30 pm on March 2, they found five Chinese people who were also heading to Cambodia. The Chinese people admitted that they entered Vietnam on February 28 and were brought to HCM City by a broker. They were then transferred to Long An Province to prepare to cross to Cambodia.
