Authorities in the northern province of Hai Duong have evacuated 10 households in Nam Sach Province after a large fire broke out at the Hong Ngoc Company.
Nam Sach District People's Committee reported that the fire started at 4 pm on April 4 at the company's dumping site which contained mostly scrap fabric.
"More than 100 firefighters were sent to the site," the committee said. "However, the fire spread fast on an area of around 9,000 square metres. We evacuated 10 surrounding households during the night.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the fire was not completely under control. Firefighters are still trying to prevent the fire from reigniting and spreading again.
Local authorities said that it would take about two to three days to completely put out the fire.
