Under the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam’s plan sent to the Ministry of Transport, by 2030 and a vision until 2050, the airport can serve 5 million passengers and 25,000 tonnes of goods per year. The airport can also receive aeroplanes such as B787-9 and A350-900 and similar ones.
Tho Xuan Airport
According to a representative from CAAV, Tho Xuan Airport has seen an annual growth of 17.5%, much higher than forecasted, over the past years.
He also added that the airport planning which was approved in 2014 needs to be revised to suit the real situation.
Tho Xuan is expected to become a relief airport for Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport needed to be added into the planning. The airport, which is some 45 kilometres to the west of Thanh Hoa City, is being used for both civil and military purposes.
