According to initial reports, at around 11.30 am on Thursday, fishing boat QNa91679-TS, owned by Phan Van Thanh of Tam Giang Commune, Nui Thanh District, suddenly sank roughly 130 nautical miles off the district’s An Hoa Cape.

At the time of the incident, there were 15 crew members on the boat.
Upon noticing the incident, three nearby fishing boats quickly responded and rescued 11 people. However, one of them, Nguyen Luan, 59, was found dead.
The four missing fishermen have been identified as Phan Van Yen, 59; Phan Van Tuyet, 59; Luong Thai Hoang, 55; and Bui Van Thanh, 52, all from Quang Nam.
Rescue teams are currently working with local fishermen to continue search and rescue operations.
