Ly Thai To Flower Garden, spanning 10,000 square metres in Hoan Kiem District, has seen its greenery become unsuitable. After more than two decades of use, lawns and walkways have deteriorated, calling for upgrades.

The garden restoration will focus on three key areas: the ceremonial zone, the bandstand area, and the park and garden space. The ceremonial zone will include a foyer, a main square, and an incense offering area. The square will be expanded toward the pavement along Dinh Tien Hoang Street.
Hoan Kiem District will enlarge the central square for public events, add a musical fountain along the east-west axis, and upgrade the area with public toilets and a tourist information centre.
The garden space will be expanded to connect with Le Lai, Le Thach, and Dinh Tien Hoang streets, while stone paving will be applied to the garden and Le Lai and Le Thach streets.
The district will remove unsuitable trees and plant new ones to raise shaded areas. Approximately 25 trees in the area will be cut down.
The project also includes placing a Km0 milestone before the King Ly Thai To Statue.
The project, part of the city’s broader plan to revamp the areas surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake, is scheduled to begin in April and finish in October.
