Under the recommendation sent to the HCM City People’s Committee, the Department of Transport said that the open-top double-decker services, now operated by Anh Viet Hop On-Hop Off Co., Ltd. and Vietnam-Hanoi Tourism JSC, should be converted into official bus routes.
The Department of Transport has asked the committee for permission to manage open-top and airport-linked bus routes and adjust the network as necessary.

The department is seeking permission to collaborate on bus route management with the HCM City police, the Department of Tourism, local authorities, Thu Duc City, and Tan Son Nhat Airport.
The department has also proposed handing over four bus stops on Nguyen Hue Street from Ton Duc Thang to Le Thanh Ton to the HCM City Public Transport Management Centre.
Currently, HCM City is running two open-top tourist bus routes, DL01 and DL02. Tickets cost from VND100,000-500,000 (USD4-20) per person —the two run through the city centre’s areas to mainly serve tourists.
