On May 8, police in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, received over 400 rounds of ammunition handed in by a resident who found them while digging the foundation of his family home.
Do Huu Minh made the discovery on the morning of May 7, as he and construction workers were excavating the site. They uncovered two metal containers believed to be leftover from the American War period and promptly reported the finding to authorities.
Upon inspection, police found four linked ammunition belts, each nearly one metre long, inside the boxes. The total count exceeded 400 rounds, although the specific type of ammunition has yet to be identified.
Police recorded the incident and co-ordinated with relevant units to safely dispose of the ammunition.

Authorities have proposed a commendation for Minh’s responsible action and reiterated a call for residents to refrain from illegally storing, using, or trading weapons to help maintain a safe and crime-free community.
