The memorial and burial ceremony for 73 sets of remains of soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Laos will take place on May 20 in Nghi Loc District.
Of the 73 sets of remains, 63 were found in Xiangkhouang, 8 in Xaysomboun, and 2 in Vientiane.
The Nghe An Military Command has actively co-operated with concerned agencies and localities to receive, transfer, and bury the remains. The province has also held talks to review the results of the 2024–2025 dry season’s search and repatriation efforts and prepare tasks for the next dry season.
Since 1984, Nghe An has recovered and repatriated more than 13,200 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos, with over 12,700 found in Xiangkhouang, Vientiane, and Xaysomboun.
