Under the plan, the sightseeing fee for Nha Trang Bay’s islands, such as Hon Mieu, Hon Tam, Hon Tre, Hon Mot, and Hon Mun, will be VND6,000-10,000 (USD0.23-0.39) per trip, or a total combined fee of VND40,000 for these routes, excluding accident insurance.
The fees will be charged based on the number of trips visitors take rather than per overnight stay.
Children aged below six, people with disabilities and people working at agencies of Nha Trang Bay and Khanh Hoa residents will be exempted from the fees.
Meanwhile, a 50 percent fee discount will be for children aged 6 to 16, residents of extremely disadvantaged communes under Government Programme 135, individuals recognised for their revolutionary contributions, social policy beneficiaries, people aged over 60, students, and low-income households in Khanh Hoa.
Annual fee revenue, estimated at over VND26.4 billion, will be used for the Nha Trang Bay Management Board’s operations, including patrolling, inspections, rescue, conservation, mooring maintenance, vessel repairs, environmental surveys, and waste collection.
Regarded as one of the world’s most stunning bays, Nha Trang Bay was recognised as a national scenic site in 2005. Stretching across nearly 250 square kilometres, the bay boasts among Vietnam’s richest and most diverse ecosystems.
