Buon Ma Thuot City General Hospital

On March 19, Trinh Hong Nhut, Director of Buon Ma Thuot City General Hospital, confirmed to Dantri reporters that the hospital was restructuring job positions.

Many employees under contract with the hospital told the media that their contracts had suddenly been terminated or were not renewed as in previous years. Over 30 staff members, including midwives, nurses, and accountants, have not had their contracts renewed.

"I've been working on an annual contract at the hospital for nearly ten years. Now that my contract has expired, I'm deeply worried as it has not been renewed. Finding a new job at my age will be extremely difficult," a concerned female employee said.

The hospital director explained that the institution had struggled financially due to a few patients, while staffing levels have remained at their historic levels.

"Currently, the hospital only has around 130 patients, whereas our staff numbers exceed 230," he stated. "There are many redundant positions, and we need to reorganise."

Nhut, who took over hospital management in August 2024, acknowledged various inefficiencies, particularly in staffing levels.

"We can't maintain an oversized and ineffective system. The hospital will assess staffing to determine long-term or temporary contract renewals," he said. "Our primary goal is to attract talented professionals, improve hospital quality, and secure financial stability, ensuring employee livelihoods and the best possible patient care."
