According to MAG's report, a resident discovered a large bomb near the coastline, approximately 250 metres from a residential area in Thanh Xuan Village, Thanh Trach Commune, Bo Trach District, on the morning of March 21.
Following a request from the Quang Binh Provincial Military Command, MAG's bomb disposal team arrived at the scene to implement urgent measures to neutralise the bomb.

Upon assessment, experts identified the device as a US MK82 bomb weighing around 230 kilos dating back to the American War. Adhering to strict safety procedures, MAG's technical team defused and transported the bomb to a designated destruction site, ensuring absolute safety for residents.
Earlier, on March 17, the same unit had safely disposed of a 118-kilo bomb discovered beneath the pier of Ban Chuon Bridge in Kim Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province.
