Nam Dinh FC’s homepage earlier posted images of Xuan Son completing light sessions, including obstacle drills and two-footed ball control. His training workload remains lower than his teammates to ensure a safe recovery.
Xuan Son sustained a serious injury during the 2024 ASEAN Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand and returned to Brazil for treatment after the 2024/25 season.
The 2025–26 National Cup is scheduled to run from September 13 to June 28, 2026. Thep Xanh Nam Dinh FC will enter in the second round, facing the winner of the Long An FC vs. Quy Nhon United FC match.
The winners will claim VND 2 billion in prize money and secure a place at the 2026–27 ASEAN Clubs Cup.
