The event is scheduled to begin at 1.30 pm at the Melia Hotel and is jointly organised by Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, the EU Delegation to Vietnam, the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).

Participants will include ministry leaders, representatives of government agencies, diplomatic missions, international organisations, local authorities and Vietnamese and European businesses. A high-level European business delegation, organised by EU-ABC and EuroCham, will also visit Vietnam for meetings and discussions.

The forum aims to strengthen policy dialogue and promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union. It will also provide a direct channel for government agencies and businesses from both sides to exchange market information, promote trade and investment, and establish business partnerships.

Against a backdrop of global economic and trade uncertainty, growing demands for green transition and sustainable development, and changes in global supply chains, the event will give Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade an opportunity to discuss the country's economic, industrial and trade development priorities with major European corporations. It will also showcase policies and cooperation opportunities.

Sessions and panel discussions will focus on areas with strong cooperation potential, including green industry, energy transition, logistics, green finance, trade facilitation and the development of new value chains.

A key priority will be to strengthen links between European corporations and Vietnamese businesses, improve the capabilities of domestic suppliers, attract high-quality investment and promote technology transfer.

Recent figures indicate that economic ties between Vietnam and the EU are at their strongest since the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect, with bilateral trade growing at double-digit rates.

According to Eurostat data released by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security in May 2026, the EU imported EUR 63.9 billion worth of goods from Vietnam in 2025, up 16 per cent from the previous year.

Vietnam became the bloc's ninth-largest import source, overtaking Japan and accounting for 2.5 per cent of the EU's total imports from outside the bloc. Two-way trade reached EUR 76 billion, up approximately 67 per cent from 2019, the year before the EVFTA took effect.

Some Vietnamese products have established strong positions in the European market. Machinery and electrical equipment accounted for more than half of the EU's imports from Vietnam, worth EUR 33.8 billion.

Vietnam supplied nearly 15 per cent of the EU's telecommunications equipment imports from outside the bloc. In footwear, one in every four pairs imported by the EU from non-EU countries came from Vietnam.

Agricultural exports have also grown strongly. Plant-based products, including coffee, cashew nuts and pepper, reached EUR 4.5 billion, rising by more than 40 per cent in a single year.
