The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said a weak cold air mass, combined with upper-level wind convergence at an altitude of 1,500 metres, would bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the north from tonight through the morning of November 3. Some mountainous areas could see heavy rain, accompanied by a slight drop in temperatures.

Until November 5, the region is forecast to remain cloudy at night and in the morning, with isolated showers and early-morning fog. Clouds are expected to clear around midday, giving way to sunshine in the afternoon.
Around November 6, another surge of cold air is expected to move into northern Vietnam, bringing rain and thunderstorms. The cold air will be reinforced on November 7-8, causing temperatures to fall significantly.
Minimum temperatures could drop below 20 degrees Celsius, and below 18 degrees in parts of the northern mountainous region.
In central Vietnam, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast over the coming days. From November 8 to 11, further cold air surges could bring heavy rain to areas from Nghe An to Hue and parts of the south-central coast.
Southern Vietnam is expected to see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening over the coming days.
