Under the agreement inked by VTV General Director Tran Binh Minh and CJ E&M General Director Kang Seok Hee, the two sides will co-operate to make a television series.

The 30-part series features stories about the lives of Vietnamese students studying in South Korea; scenes will be filmed in both countries. The film is expected to attract not only Vietnamese audiences but also those from other countries.

According to the VTV general director, the agreement is part of the station’s strategy to boost its co-operation with regional partners as well as beef up cultural exchanges between Vietnam and other nations.

Kang Seok Hee said the film project opens many culture exchange opportunities for Vietnam and South Korea, adding that Vietnam's large youth population makes it a good target for projects of this kind.

VTV and CJ E&M agreed on sharing the production costs equally. The series is scheduled for completion in autumn  2014.

CJ E&M is one of the biggest television film producers in South Korea.
