More than 100 young overseas Vietnamese from 32 countries and territories took part in a Vietnamese language exchange programme in Hue on Friday as part of Vietnam Summer Camp 2026.

Participants competed in six teams through singing, poetry recitals, drama performances and presentations, showcasing their Vietnamese language skills while exploring the country's history and culture.

Organisers said the programme aims to strengthen connections between young members of the Vietnamese diaspora and encourage the use of Vietnamese among younger generations living abroad.

The annual summer camp, running from July 12 to 25, takes participants to destinations across Vietnam, including Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue, Danang, Gia Lai and Khanh Hoa.

While in Hue, the group visited the Imperial Citadel, the Huong River Pottery Museum and the Le Ba Dang Memorial Space, alongside other cultural and historical sites.

The camp is scheduled to close on July 24 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province.
