Dozens of international groups and hundreds of local artists will bring to the Hue Festival 2016 folk shows, hot air balloon performance, beer carnival and other activities.
Vietnamese and foreign artists preparing for the festival
As of April 26, about 271 artists from 17 countries include France, China, Israel, the US and Australia, arrived to participate in the festival along with 350 professional and over 1,500 amateur performers in Vietnam. A total of 102 cultural, artistic and tourism activities will be held this year.
Traditional arts will receive more attention in the opening and closing ceremonies and with other activities such as the Royal Night. There will be Buddhist dance held by the Buddhist Sangha of Thua Thien-Hue Province and Trinh Cong Son Music Show. The festival also features contemporary pop, rock, flamenco music and DJ night.
The duration of the festival has been reduced from 12 to six days over the years. However, the Hue Festival is successfully building its reputation as Vietnam’s most diverse and modern festival. Its international reputation is also helping to promote Hue's tourism.
The festival will take place from April 29 to May 4.
