Hanoi plans Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations for children

Hanoi will organise a series of Mid-Autumn Festival events for children in September, with activities aimed at ensuring all children can celebrate the annual festival.

A city-level programme Full Moon Festival Night 2026, is scheduled for 8 pm on September 25 in Dong Anh Commune, bringing together around 1,000 children and guests. The event will be held both in person and livestreamed on the city's official Facebook page.

The programme will feature cultural performances, lion dances, gift presentations and exchanges with artists.

Ward and commune-level celebrations will run from September 20 to 25, with priority given to children in difficult circumstances, ethnic minority communities and mountainous areas.

The city also called for visits and gifts for disadvantaged children, child welfare institutions and paediatric hospitals, while encouraging donations of scholarships, bicycles, books and school supplies.

Authorities will organise cultural, sports and traditional games for children while stepping up inspections of food safety and children's toys, targeting unsafe, untraceable or violent products.
