Operation Smile plans to provide surgeries at no cost to at least 2,000 children suffering from childhood facial deformities in Vietnam this year.

The first surgeries will be provided to 100 patients at Nhan Dan No. 115 Hospital in HCM City on June 9-16.
In order to raise funding, Operation Smile will hold an art auction on May 26, with artwork donated by artists and collectors nationwide.
The type of surgery they will perform would normally cost around VND5 million (USD239), which is far out of the price range of many families. But the benefits to the child are tremendous.
Last year, the agency provided free surgery to over 2,600 children across the country, mostly for cleft lips and palates.
The organisation's goal is to help the entire population of children in need in the country, estimated to be around 13,000.
